My latest design for The First Arabian Night

This is a computer modelled image of my latest design for The First Arabian Night, which will be staged at The Arts University College in late 2010. I have been working with Dr Ian Stephenson from Bournemouth University. Ian has developed an amazing new computer modelling software package called Stage Builder which can help designers to design their sets, light them and walk around the performance space...amazing stuff! This technology has been really useful to use in the planning of this project which is to be directed by Sean Aita.

I was inspired within this design by my fascination with Hawaiian shirt textiles and classic American diner iconography. The director, Clifford Milner and I wanted the space to look clean and streamlined to reflect the surreal nature of the piece....after all who knows what Heaven looks like?
